Coordinator Posting:

Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Food & Nutrition Services Coordinator of Development & Special Programs.  The appointee will report directly to the Director Food & Nutrition Services and will be responsible for developing new projects and procedures to elevate the program including but not limited to the development and training of scratch cooking program, internal outreach to campus staff and administration, update all training manuals with current content, translate all training materials and manuals into Spanish, conduct compliance checks for all special programs and after-school programs to ensure compliance with Texas Department of Agriculture regulations.

 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• Ability to work towards SNS certification.

 

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• 5 years successful School Food Service management
• have extensive training experience
• Experience in project planning and collaborating with a team to implement procedures and projects
• Exhibit proficiency in basic computer skills (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email).
• possess a certification from a credited sanitation course and an excellent working knowledge of food service sanitation and safety
• Possess a general knowledge and understanding of the laws, regulations, and policies as they apply to food and nutrition
• demonstrate effective communication (verbal and written), public relation, and interpersonal skills

 

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

Pay Range:  226-day contract

 

Employment begins:  As soon as possible
