Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of School Librarian. The appointee will report directly to the campus principal and the Director of Library Media Services and will be responsible for the Library Media Service Program for the campus. The person will work closely with all personnel and students on the campus.
Qualifications: The Librarian will have a Master's degree, a valid teaching certificate, and a valid TEA Librarian Certification or Learning Resources Specialist/Endorsement.
Preference will be given to applicants who:
- have demonstrated successful teaching and/or librarian experience
- have a working knowledge of the various instructional programs
- have knowledge of and proficiency in using technology and experience in administering the integrated library program
- possess proficiency in the instruction of information literacy and research skills
- possess strong analytical and organizational skills
- exhibit excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
Salary: Librarian Schedule: $62,500 to $77,202; 187 days
Employment begins: 2024-2025 School Year
