Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Elementary Bilingual Teacher. The appointee will report to the campus principal and will be responsible to plan, develop, and implement effective classroom instruction so that student achievement will be maximized. (Multiple positions)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in any field or foreign equivalent. Must possess an unexpired Standard Texas Educator certificate in Bilingual Education Supplemental-Spanish grades EC-4 or EC-6 or EC-8 or Bilingual-Generalist Spanish Grades EC-6 or demonstrate immediate eligibility to obtain such certificate. Fluency in Spanish and English. Employer will check professional references.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Plan, organize, and provide academic instruction to Limited English Proficient elementary students
- Teach students basic academic, social, and other formative skills at the elementary level
- Plan and demonstrate strategies to facilitate the acquisition of development milestones and required knowledge
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests
- Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible
- Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress and to determine priorities for their children and their resource needs
- Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
- Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities, and in imaginative play
- Fulfill the general responsibilities of a classroom teacher
- Perform other duties as assigned
