Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Educational Interpreter for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing  The appointee will report directly to the campus principal and will be responsible for interpreting for students in assigned classes and related school activities.  The person will work closely with the Coordinator for the Regional Day School for the Deaf, teachers, students, parents and other district personnel.

 

QualificationsThe Interpreter will have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and college credit in American Sign Language.  The interpreter should have certification from the Board for Evaluation of Interpreters Level Basic or above or the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.

Salary:  Instructional Support Compensation Plan - Pay Grade (5); $49,087 to $67,320 (annual); 187 day position
