Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor.  The appointee will report to the Assistant Director of Operations. They will also directly supervise 8 – 9 Cafeteria Managers and indirectly supervise 50+ Food Service Specialists. Provide leadership on policies and procedures pertaining to the Food and Nutrition Services program along with district, local, and state policies and procedures. Serve as a department liaison between food services and campus administrators.

 

Qualifications: 

• Two years’ experience in institutional food service operations, preferred experience in supervision of multi-unit operations
• Experience in school food service management, quality assurance, menu planning, and/or catering preferred.
• ServSafe certification required upon hire or obtained with two months of hire date (training will be provided by district)
• Demonstrate proficiency in essential computer skills (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• Provide leadership to assigned school with regard to personnel, operations, customer service, food quality, facilities, etc.
• Ensure adherence to established best practices, legal requirements, policies, and emerging technologies pertaining to school services; communicate any relevant compliance issues to departmental personnel as needed
• Perform regular audits to guarantee adherence to all departmental, as well as local, state, and federal policies and procedures.
• Monitor and assess compliance with the HACCP program to ensure that all food safety regulations are being followed appropriately
• Responsible to ensure that all polices, and procedures are consistently adhered to and in compliance with department, district, local, and state standards and regulations
• Monitor daily operations and offer necessary training and guidance
• Establish and maintain regular professional communication with administrators, campus staff and department leadership on a daily basis
• Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
