Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Food and
Nutrition Services Manager-In-Training. The appointee will learn policies and procedures of the Food and Nutrition Services by attending classes, observation, and hands-on training to the assigned kitchen. Follow requirements set forth by the Child Nutrition Program, as well as, local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- The Manager-In-Training will have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a credited sanitation course and maintain certification.
- 10 hours of Professional Growth hours documented each school year.
Preferences will be given to applicants who:
- Have one year of school food service experience (preferred).
- To be able to learn and comprehend the district and Child Nutrition Programs requirements, how to use the equipment and appliances in principles of quantity food preparation.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written.
- Demonstrate ability to manage personnel and maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrates competence in computer and money counting skills.
- Ability to get along and work well with others.
- Exhibit effective planning and organizational skills.
- Self–motivated and self-directed.
