PRIMARY PURPOSE:

- Demonstrate effective communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills to build strong internal and external support for the campus and district
- Possess knowledge and understanding of change process, organizational development, conflict resolution, and facilitation skills
- Understand the importance of vision and know how to develop a collaborative vision
- Expertise to supervise and evaluate all personnel and develop professional growth and staff development plans for all teachers and staff
- Exhibit expertise to lead collaboratively… to plan, develop, and implement an effective instructional system
- Demonstrate an understanding of classroom management theories and techniques
- Demonstrate expertise to develop and manage the campus budget
- Possess understanding of technology and its place in the educational process and the expertise to utilize data to facilitate informed decisions
- Understand research designs and methods including gathering, analyzing, disaggregating, and interpreting data
- Demonstrate ability to develop and implement strategic campus improvement plans
- Appreciate and understand multicultural and ethnic characteristics, as well as other factors leading to diversity

EXPERIENCE:
- Successful experience as an Administrator or Assistant Administrator.
- Successful experience as a classroom teacher.
- Such alternatives to the listed qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Assume administrative responsibility, under the supervision of the Superintendent/Designee, for educational planning, discipline management, supervision, and evaluation of the educational programs of the school unit.
- Develop an efficient system for interviewing applicants, for campus positions that assures the placement of the best possible personnel.
- Submit recommendations to Superintendent/Designee concerning assignment, evaluation, promotion, and dismissal of all personnel assigned to the school unit.
- Establish, through a collaborative effort, the goals and objectives of the instructional program in accordance with school policy and procedure, and in keeping with the stated educational philosophy of the school district.
- Promote professional growth of the faculty by cooperating with the instructional department in planning, organizing, and presenting worthwhile staff development programs which meet the individual and group needs of teachers.
- Lead in planning and developing a testing, evaluation, and guidance program that will meet the unique needs of all students and satisfies all accreditation standards.
- Lead, through a collaborative effort, the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a Crisis Management Plan that is preventive in nature.
- Lead, through a collaborative effort, in planning, developing, organizing and implementing an effective Site Based Team on his/her campus.
- Lead in the organization, administration, and general supervision of a program of Extra-Curricular activities to develop special interests and abilities of pupils.
- Prepare all reports required by the Texas Education Agency, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the University Interscholastic League, and the Superintendent and staff.
- Develop and implement, through a collaborative process, the management of student records and support services/programs.
- Supervise student registration, maintaining accurate pupil accounting records, including attendance, suspension and expulsion.
- Inspect school plant facilities periodically, submitting requisitions for supplies, maintenance, and/or improvement as required.
- Serve as custodian for all books and property assigned to the school unit, maintaining efficient inventory records on all such properties.
- Assume responsibility for all campus financial transactions. Principal or his designees must keep accurate records of all budget and financial monies collected, and supervise the maintenance of all internal financial records in a manner that would be in order for audit.
