Description

Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director of Army Instruction. The appointee will report to the Assistant Superintendent - Teaching and Learning and will oversee the planning, development, and implementation of an effective instructional Junior ROTC program in a way that includes the best use of research findings, time, space, available technology, financial and community resources, so that student achievement will be maximized.

 

Qualifications:    Must be a retired U.S. Army Officer and hold a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred).  Must be certified as a Junior ROTC instructor by the U.S. Army.

 

Preference will be given to applicants who:

 

  • possess knowledge of Army regulations related to Junior ROTC Programs
  • possess knowledge of Army regulations related to the duties of the Property Book Officer
  • demonstrate effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills
  • have successful work experience as a Director of Army Instruction or Senior Army Instruction
  • have been a SAI for a minimum of 2 years
  • is an officer in the rank of colonel or lieutenant colonel 

 

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

Salary:  Pay Range:  Administrative 5; $102,000 - $126,000; 226 day position

 

Employment begins:  July 1, 2024, or as soon as possible
