Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Superintendent - Personnel Services. The appointee will report directly to the Deputy Superintendent and will be administratively responsible for personnel operations, staff development, employee benefits, and teacher preparation programs. The appointee will work closely with the central office personnel, campus/departmental administrators, district personnel, government agencies, and the general public.
Qualifications:
The Assistant Superintendent must have a master’s degree, a Mid-Management/Administrator Certificate, and successful experience in Central Office. The position requires residence within the boundaries of the Mesquite ISD.
Preference will be given to applicants who:
- have successful experience as a campus principal
- demonstrate the ability to provide leadership for planning and developing a quality personnel recruitment, hiring, retention, and development process
- possess an understanding of all policies and procedures that govern certification of personnel
- demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of laws, regulations, and policies as they apply to personnel functions
- possess knowledge and understanding of employee rights and district responsibilities regarding its employees
- have a working knowledge of wage and salary administration
- demonstrate the ability to manage budgetary responsibilities
- possess knowledge and understanding of the change process, organizational development, conflict resolution, and facilitation skills
- have an understanding of and/or familiarity with the instructional program
- exhibit a global view of district operations
- possess strong assessment, analytical, organizational and leadership skills
- have knowledge of and proficiency in using technology to facilitate administrative duties and responsibilities
- demonstrate effective communication (oral and written), public relation, and interpersonal skills

administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
Salary: Professional 10 - $164,300 to $227,100; 226-day contract
