Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Coordinator of Purchasing/Business, Food and Nutrition Services. The appointee will report directly to the Assistant Director of Finance & Support services and will be responsible for the procurement of food, non-food, equipment, services and supplies, in a cost effective manner. The appointee will also work with affiliated Commodity Cooperatives as needed, follow established district criteria and state purchasing rules for competitive bidding, informal quotations, ensuring that the optimum is obtained from expenditures of school district funds. 

Qualifications:  High School Diploma; TASBO & TASN Certification - minimum 1st level preferred; Bachelor's Degree in Business or applicable field preferred

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• have a minimum of three years of work experience in School Nutrition
• have a working knowledge of procedures for purchasing and invoicing supplies and equipment
• have knowledge of State, Texas school district and local district purchasing laws, rules, regulations, practices and procedures
• exhibit proficiency in Word Processing, personal computer operations, electronic mail and a high level of reading/analytical capabilities/math skills and the ability to develop Excel spreadsheets and databases of bid-related documentation
• have experience in creating annual budgets, PLE/Adult meal pricing, income statements, P/L reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), etc.
• demonstrate skills in accounting, developing and preparing product specifications
• exhibit highly effective organizational and consensus-building skills
• have knowledge and understanding of the policies and procedures of the Mesquite ISD
• ability to articulate clearly and communicate with a variety of audiences

Salary:  Pay Range:  Pay Grade 9 (FNS Compensation Plan);  $54,991 - $82,000; 226 days
