Description:  

Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Locksmith in the Facilities Management Department.  The appointee will report directly to the Locksmith Supervisor and aid in maintaining locks and door closers to ensure the safety and security of all district facilities.

Qualifications:     

The appointee must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.  The appointee must have a valid Texas drivers license and meet eligibility criteria to operate a District vehicle. 

 Preference will be given to applicants who:

• demonstrate successful experience in locksmithing for a minimum of five (5) years.
• exhibit a working knowledge and use of locksmithing tools and power equipment.
• have the ability to design, install and repair locking systems.
• demonstrate effective communication, public relations and interpersonal skills.
• have a service oriented personality.
• are certified as a locksmith.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
