Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Food and Nutrition Services Manager. The appointee will report to the FNS Area Supervisor. The appointee will provide supervision, training, and management for the campus food service operation on site. Ensure that appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served. Meets requirements set forth by the Child Nutrition Programs, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. Conduct operational management and production management daily. Direct daily activities in the kitchen and cafeteria and maintains a safe and hazard-free working environment.

Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma or Graduate Record Exam (GED)
• Completion of a credited sanitation course and maintain certification
• One year of school food service management experience

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• Possess strong knowledge and awareness of the TDA Child Nutrition Programs, equipment, and appliances used in quantity food preparation.
• Able to teach and train others in food preparation, food safety, and meal service
• Demonstrate ability to manage personnel and maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrate computer, money counting, and supplies inventory skills.
• Exhibit effective planning and organizational skills.
• Self–motivated and self-directed.
• Ability to perform verbal and written communication effectively.
• Ability to walk, stand, and bend constantly in a frequently loud work environment.
• Ability to get along and work well with others.
