Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Director of Transportation.  The appointee will report directly to the Director of Transportation and will be responsible for assisting with all facets of student transportation for the district.  The person will work closely with department employees, campus administrators, central office staff, and other district personnel.

Qualifications:  .

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• have a master's degree and an Administrator/Mid-Management (Principal) certificate have at least a Bachelor's degree
• have successful experience in public school administration and/or supervision at the campus or central level
• hold a valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (class B), and a Texas Education Agency School Bus Driver Certificate or will obtain a CDL within one year of hire
• have prior experience in the transportation industry or a related field
• possess a general knowledge and understanding of the laws, regulations, and district policies, as they apply to transportation.
• demonstrate the ability to deliver effective staff development and training
• possess a knowledge and understanding of technology as it relates to transportation services and to facilitative administrative efficiency
• possess an understanding of accounting procedures and the budgetary process
• exhibit strong analytical, organization and leadership skills
• demonstrate effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary:  Pay Range:  Administration Pay Grade 2 - $68,500-$100,800; 226 day contract
