Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director - Transportation.  The appointee will report directly to the Assistant Superintendent - Administrative Services and will be responsible for all facets of student transportation for the district.  The person will work closely with department employees, campus administrators, central office staff, and other district personnel.

Qualifications:  The Director will have at least a Bachelor's degree and extensive experience in school transportation or a related field/industry.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• have at least three (3) successful years of experience in transportation
• have prior supervisory experience 
• hold a Master's degree and/or experience in public school administration
• possess a general knowledge and understanding of the laws, regulations, and district policies as they apply to transportation
• demonstrate the ability to deliver effective staff development and training
• possess a knowledge and understanding of technology as it relates to transportation services and to facilitate administrative efficiency
• are familiar with scheduling and designing routes
• possess an understanding of accounting procedures and the budgetary process
• exhibit strong analytical, organizational and leadership skills
• are able to work a flexible schedule, as necessary
• demonstrate effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.  

Salary:  Pay Range:  Professional 7 - $100,800 to $139,400; 226 day contract

Employment begins:  July 1, 2021, or as soon as possible
