Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Director of Food and Nutrition Services.  The appointee will report directly to the Director of Food and Nutrition Services.  The appointee will be responsible for ensuring effective food service operations in the schools by adhering to state and federal laws as well as MISD policies and procedures.  The appointee will work closely with department employees, campus administrators, central office staff, and other district personnel.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a business, finance, dietetics or other applicable field.\
• Completion of credited management sanitation course and maintain certification.
• School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) certification preferred.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• Knowledge of NSLP and SBP Regulations preferred.
• Working knowledge of procedures for purchasing and invoicing supplies and equipment.
• Knowledge of State, Texas school district and local District purchasing laws, rules, regulations, practices and procedures preferred.
• Knowledge of and skill in applying advanced purchasing tools and techniques preferred.
• Proficient skills in word processing, personal computer operation, electronic mail and high level of reading/analysis capability/math skills and the ability to develop spreadsheets and databases of bid-related documentation.
• Skill in developing and preparing product specifications.
• Exhibit effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Accounting skills and in-depth knowledge of Excel.
• 5 years successful public School Food Service or K-12 experience preferred.
• Experience in financial management.

Salary Range:   FNS 9;  $63,965 - 92,245
