Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Learning Recovery Specialist (LRS). The appointees will support the efforts of a campus to recover learning loss in students who were impacted by the COVID pandemic. The LRS may be required to engage in pull out programs, tutoring programs, support of campus teachers in their efforts to recover learning loss, or any other campus effort designated to recovering learning loss. The LRS will serve no more than 18 hours per week at a designated campus under the district’s plan for recovery learning and under the ESSER 3 federal dollars.  The campus principal will determine the duty schedule for selected Learning Recovery Specialists.

*Qualifications:      Bachelor’s Degree or higher; Valid Texas Teaching Certificate

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• have had successful teaching experience in a public school setting
• have knowledge of effective instructional strategies and techniques
• demonstrate an understanding of technology and its impact on instruction
• exhibit the ability to work well with students
• have an understanding of and compassion for children with unique learning needs
• have knowledge of Mesquite ISD policies and procedures
• possess strong analytical and organizational skills       
• demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary:   Teacher Pay Scale (Daily Rate of Pay, based on degree and years of service)

Employment begins:   August 8, 2022  (Tentative)
