Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of elementary music teacher. The teacher will report to the campus principal/fine arts facilitator for elementary music and will be responsible for the instructional program associated with the music classroom. The appointee will work closely with students, classroom teachers, parents, and other campus members.
Qualifications: All candidates must possess a valid Texas Teaching Certificate. (Music Education EC-12)
Preference will be given to applicants who:
- have demonstrated successful teaching/student teaching experience in the area of music education
- possess an in-depth understanding of effective instructional strategies
- have an understanding of and compassion for children with various learning styles
- possess an understanding of computer functions and values technology as it relates to instruction
- appreciate, understand, and value multicultural and ethnic diversity
- demonstrate effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
Salary: Pay Range: Teacher Scale - 187 day contract
