Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Kindergarten-2nd grade teacher for the Bridge Program at Cannaday Elementary. The Bridge utilizes the Boys Town Specialized Classroom Model, which includes teaching social skills and proper interactions, resulting in improvements in student behavior. The appointee will report directly to the campus principal and work closely with parents and a behavior team.
Qualifications: The Teacher will have at least a Bachelor's degree, with a valid Texas Teacher Certificate - Elementary Education and ESL.
Preference will be given to applicants who:
- have successful experience as an early childhood teacher
- have a special education certification
- possess an understanding of various disabilities, 504 and special education
- have demonstrated successful work experience with students exhibiting behavioral needs
- have a strong background in behavior management techniques and effective teaching strategies
- have experience creating and implementing behavior intervention plans
- possess the necessary skills to assist staff members in the remediation of various disruptive behaviors
- possess strong analytical and organizational skills
- demonstrate effective communication, public relation and interpersonal skills
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
Pay Range: Teacher pay scale; 187 day contract
