Description: Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the teaching position of Fire Instructor.
Qualifications: Required:
- Current Texas Commission of Fire Protection (TCFP) Firefighter Certification and TCFP Instructor I.
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable related occupational experience
- Two years Teaching/Training experience required.
- Valid Texas Teaching Credential, or eligible to qualify for a credential through an alternative teacher certification program. (Relevant professional work experience may be considered in lieu of certification.)
- EMT B required.
- Eligible to complete application and serve as adjunct with Dallas College Fire Technology program.
Minimum Relevant Work Experience within the last eight years
3-5 years recent, relevant work experience required.
- 3 Years with a college degree or
- 5 Years without college degree
Applicants may also hold a certificate in Trade and Industry Education.

Preference will be given to applicants who:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Certified Paramedic preferred
- Model and support the effective integration of technology in the classroom.
- Display competency with administrative and instructional applications of technology
- Manages and maintains program facilities and equipment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and schedules in an organized fashion.
- Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on state curriculum through a combination of classroom, laboratory, and co-curricular activities.
- Work experience in related field
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule: 202 -day contract
Employment begins: July 19, 2021
