Description: Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the teaching position of Automotive Technology.
Qualifications: The teacher will need to meet the requirements under the Texas Education Agency teacher certificate guidelines for Trade and Industrial Education.

Preference will be given to applicants who:
- Have work experience in the automotive industry
- Hold an ASE Master Technician certification, or hold ASE certifications in the four areas of suspension and steering, brakes, electrical systems, and engine performance
- Have completed the OSHA course for general industry
- Have required license, endorsements, and training for subject and level assigned
- Have demonstrated successful teaching
- Have the ability to meet deadlines and schedules in an organized fashion
- Exhibit advanced computer, communication, and public relation skills
- Provide content-related and appropriate instruction based on state curriculum through a combination of classroom, laboratory, and co-curricular activities
- Demonstrates expertise in subject area and embraces professional development opportunities
- Understands the importance of promoting and securing student certification
- Maintain a clean, effective, and professional learning environment
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule: 195-day contract
