(These positions are funded either in part or whole through the State Compensatory Education and/or Dyslexia Allotment and will be evaluated at the end of each year based on the success of the program and the availability of funds.)
Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Itinerant Teacher for Dyslexia Instruction at the elementary and/or middle school level. The appointee will report to the campus principal and will be responsible for the instruction of students identified with dyslexia in the district intervention program.
Qualifications: The Itinerant Teacher will have a valid Texas Teaching Certificate with certification at the appropriate level.
Preference will be given to applicants who:
- have at least three years successful teaching experience in the district
- demonstrate willingness to follow the structured program as designed
- exhibit an in-depth understanding of effective instructional strategies and techniques
- understand the value of technology as it relates to education
- possess strong analytical and organizational skills
- demonstrate effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
Pay Range: Teacher Salary Schedule: 187 day contract
Employment begins: August 3, 2021
