Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Principal at the secondary level.  The appointee will report directly to the Executive Director - Leadership Development and will be responsible for the instructional program and the overall operation of the campus.  The Principal will work closely with all personnel, students, and parents associated with the campus.

The Principal will have at least a Master's Degree and an Administrator/Mid-Management Certificate.  (*All required exams must be passed and candidates must be fully certified on the date of application.)  In addition, candidates must have completed (or in the process of completing) the Administrative Internship through the MISD Professional Learning Department or have prior experience as a principal.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• have at least three (3) years of successful experience as a campus administrator
• possess the ability to develop and implement plans and analyze data in order to maximize student achievement
• display the ability to assess school climate and culture
• have an understanding of technology and its place in educational process
• exhibit the expertise to develop and manage the campus budget
• have a general understanding of UIL rules and procedures
• exhibit the ability to develop professional growth and staff development plans for teachers/staff
• possess strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
• demonstrate effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills
• possess effective conflict resolution and problem solving skills
• have knowledge of curriculum and instructional strategies
• have an understanding of and compassion for children with various learning styles and behaviorial problems
• appreciate, understand, and value multicultural and ethnic diversity

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary:

Middle School:           Professional 6 - $91,200 to $125,700 (220 days)

High School:              Professional 8 - $108,700 to $154,400 (226 days)

Employment begins:  Middle School:  July 6, 2021

                                   High School:  July 1, 2021
