The Mesquite Independent School District and City of Mesquite are seeking qualified candidates for the position of substitute pharmacists in the joint city/school employee health clinic & pharmacy.  Appointees will be placed on an active substitute list and will perform on an as-needed/on-call basis.  Substitute pharmacists will report directly to the lead pharmacist and will be responsible for assisting with all pharmacy operations of the clinic.  Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  maintaining safety and security, formulary management, drug evaluations, disease management and pharmaceutical wellness, filling prescriptions, and ensuring compliance with federal state and local requirements.  The PRN Pharmacist will work closely with staff pharmacists, clinic manager, physician, staff, school and city administrators, employees who are members of the respective health plans, and eligible dependents.

 

Qualifications:  To be placed on the active substitute list, Pharmacists will have at least a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education and must be licensed by the State of Texas.

 

Preference will be given to applicants who:

 

__have completed a successful internship or have at least one (1) year of experience in a retail-related pharmacy environment

__demonstrate a sincere interest in wellness and the promotion of healthy lifestyles

__possess a thorough understanding of the technical content of the position as well as the ability to apply these skills to health related issues

__possess strong assessment skills along with a logical process to gather and analyze data in order to make decisions, take action, or commit to

  specific assisnments

__demonstrate the ability to maintain performance level in pressure situations

__demonstrate effective communication, public relation and interpersonal skills (service oriented personality)

 

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration/committee may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

Salary/Benefits:  Pay Range:  $57 per hour

*Excellent hours (no weekend or late night hours)

 

Employment begins:  As-needed basis
