Description:  Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Refrigeration Technician in the Facilities Management Department.  The appointee will report directly to the Refrigeration Supervisor and will be responsible for maintenance and repair of refrigeration equipment throughout the district.

Qualifications:  The appointee must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.  The appointee must have a valid Texas drivers license and meet eligibility criteria to drive a Mesquite ISD vehicle.  The appointee must have a Refrigerant Recovery license.

Preference will be given to applicants who: 

• exhibit knowledge of methods, materials, tools, parts and techniques used in the installation, repair and maintenance of refrigeration equipment.
• possess ability to trouble shoot electrical problems such as shorts, outages, faulty equipment or other electrical malfunctions.
• possess ability to read and interpret work manuals, blueprints, line drawings and schematics associated with equipment repair/replacement.
• possess effective communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
• have braising and soldering skills.
• posses knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• 3-5 years in the HVAC or refrigeration field.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
