Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of substitute nurse.  The appointee will report directly to the Principal/Director of Health Services and will be responsible for performing duties when the regular school nurse is absent.  The person will work closely with students, parents, and campus staff.

Qualifications:  The Substitute Nurse must be a graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program, hold a valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas. One year of experience post-licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is preferred. 

Preference will be given to applicants who:

__have successful experience in the nursing field

__demonstrate effective communications, public relation and interpersonal skills

__possess strong assessment skills

__exhibit the ability to work well with students

__have a service-oriented personality

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary:  Pay range:  Certified substitute scale - $180.00 per day

Employment begins:  As soon as possible, on an as-needed basis
