Custodial Helper (Part-Time)

The Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Custodial Helper.  The appointee will report directly to campus administrator(s) and will assist

the custodial staff with supplemental cleaning tasks with a primary focus on cleaning and disinfecting surfaces in high traffic areas on campus.

Qualifications – High School Diploma/GED

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• have a knowledge of methods, materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment used in custodial work
• can understand and follow oral directions and guidelines
• have an understanding of Mesquite ISD policies and procedures relating to the work performed
• can read, understand and follow written directions, equipment manuals and warnings on labels for various cleaning agents, solvents and other equipment
• can perform routine repetitive tasks on a continuous basis
• have the ability to complete basic logs and reports related to work progress
• exhibit sound judgment and care in the performance of assigned duties

Alternatives to the above qualifications and preferences may be granted as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary:  Hourly Rate - $11.00; 4 hour shift between 7:30am-12:30pm(determined by each campus); 187 days
