Description: 

Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Carpenter in the Facilities Management Department.  The appointee will report directly to the Carpentry Supervisor and will be responsible for facility repairs throughout the district.

Qualifications:    

The Carpenter will have a High School Diploma or equivalent.  The Carpenter must have a valid Texas driver's license and meet eligibility requirements to drive a district vehicle.  

Preference will be given to applicants who: 

• demonstrate successful experience in carpentry, glazing, concrete finishing, framing and/or repairs.
• have experience in installing/repairing roofing materials and the ability to determine the amount of materials required for various jobs.
• possess a working knowledge of general carpentry.
• demonstrate an understanding of building mechanics and skilled in the use of job related tools.
• demonstrate effective communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• have a service oriented personality.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
