Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Principal at North Mesquite High School.  The appointee will report directly to the Executive Director - Leadership and Development and will be responsible for the instructional program and overall operation of the campus, including educational planning, discipline management, budgeting, supervision, personnel functions, and evaluation of the various programs.  The Principal will work closely with students, campus staff, central office/support personnel, parents, and patrons.

Qualifications:  The Principal will have at least a Master's Degree and an Administrator/Mid-Management (Principal) Certificate.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

--have at least three (3) years of successful experience as a campus administrator

--possess the ability to develop and implement campus improvement plans, and analyze data

   in order to maximize student achievement

--have knowledge of curriculum and instructional strategies

--have an understanding of and compassion for children with various learning styles

--appreciate, understand, and value multicultural and ethnic diversity

--display the ability to assess school climate and culture

--have an understanding of technology and its place in the educational process

--exhibit the expertise to develop and manage the campus budget

--have a general understanding of UIL rules and procedures

--exhibit the ability to develop professional growth and staff development plans for teachers/staff

--possess strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills

--demonstrate effective communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary:  Administrative 8:  $107,700 to $153,400; 226 days

Employment begins:  July 1, 2020
