Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of School Nurse.  The appointee will report to the Principal and Director of Health Services and will be responsible for the health care needs of students.  The person will work closely with students, parents, and campus staff.

Qualifications:  The Nurse must be a graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program and hold a valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas, and have at least 12 months of post-licensure experience as a registered nurse (RN).

Preference will be given to applicants who:

--have successful experience in the nursing field

--hold a bachelor's degree in Nursing

--possess a broad base of knowledge regarding the treatment of illnesses and injuries

--have a general understanding of medications and related effects

--possess strong assessment skills

--exhibit the ability to work well with students

--demonstrate effective communication, public relation and interpersonal skills

--have a service oriented personality

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary:  Pay Range:  Nurse Salary Schedule - $55,000 - $68,925, depending on experience; 187 day position
