Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of part-time Social Worker.  The appointee will report directly to the Executive Director-Special Education Services and will assist in correlating school, home, and community agencies in order to support the total development of students.

Qualifications:  The Social Worker will have a Master's Degree in social work and licensure by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

--have knowledge of agencies in the community that are available to assist families

--have experience working with students with various disabilities

--demonstrate an understanding of computer functions and related technology

--exhibit an understanding of counseling techniques and strategies along with conflict

  resolution and facilitation skills

--demonstrate excellent communication (verbal and written), public relation, and

  interpersonal skills

--possess strong analytical and organizational skills

--have an understanding of and compassion for children and families with special needs

Salary:  Pay Range:  Counselor/Diagnostician Salary Schedule

                                     187 day contract (50%)

Employment begins:  February 17, 2020 or as soon as possible
