Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Food and

Nutrition Services Manager-In-Training. The appointee will learn policies and procedures of the Food and Nutrition Services by attending classes, observation, and hands-on training to the assigned kitchen.  Follow requirements set forth by the Child Nutrition Program, as well as, local, state, and federal regulations. 

Qualifications:

__The Manager-In-Training will have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

__Completion of a credited sanitation course and maintain certification.

__10 hours of Professional Growth hours documented each school year.

Preferences will be given to applicants who:

__Have one year of school food service experience (preferred).

__To be able to learn and comprehend the district and Child Nutrition Programs requirements, how to use the equipment and     appliances in principles of quantity food preparation.

__Ability to communicate both verbally and written.

__Demonstrate ability to manage personnel and maintain confidentiality.

__Demonstrates competence in computer and money counting skills.

__Ability to get along and work well with others.

__Exhibit effective planning and organizational skills.

__Self–motivated and self-directed.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
