Description:        Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the

                              position of Groundskeeper in the General Turf Department.  The appointee will

                              report directly to the General Turf Supervisor and will work closely with personnel

                              in the Facilities Management Department as a general laborer.

Qualifications:    The appointee must have a valid Texas drivers license and meet eligibility 

                              criteria to operate a District vehicle.  The appointee must obtain a Class "A"

                              CDL drivers license within six months from date of hire.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

                              - have knowledge of landscaping and lawn care procedures.

                              - exhibit a working knowledge of irrigation and sprinkler systems.

                              - demonstrate an understanding of equipment care and operation. 

                              - demonstrate effective communication, public relations and interpersonal

                                skills.

                              - have a service oriented personality.

                                            Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the 

                                            administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

                             Auxiliary Compensation Plan - Pay Grade 3

                             260 Day Position
