Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of AVID Tutor. The appointee will report directly to the AVID District Coordinator. AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a college readiness program that serves 7th-12th grade students at secondary MISD campuses. Tutoring is conducted during the school day, twice a week and tutoring times vary by campus. Tutors will be assigned to a school according to the appointee's schedule and the campus needs. AVID tutoring utilizes the Socratic Method, wherein the tutor serves as a facilitator.

Locations: All 10 middle schools, Horn High School, Mesquite High School, North Mesquite High School, Poteet High School and West Mesquite High School
